The Indianapolis City Market presented “Reclaiming The Space” a public street art trail installation which took place on Halloween in 2020. In partnership with Deonna Craig, we brought together 17 Indianapolis-based visual artists to paint the barricades that the City Market was surrounded by during the Market Street construction and street enhancements. This was a free family event, open to the public. The painted barricades enhanced this construction site for over 15 months. We are continuing to engage with these talented artists in a variety of ways.
Last month, we welcomed artists to the City Market’s Jingle & Mingle event as an opportunity for the public to meet the artists and artists also were on site live painting and selling their works, prints and more. See: Reclaiming The Space: Revisited
