Celebrating the Roots of our Food

Are you interested in Food History or Food and Culture?
Join Marion County Public Health Department Nutrition Services staff as they explore the history of 18th century spice trade around the world and how cooks from Africa, South America and Cuba still influence US foods today.
“Celebrating the Roots of Our Foods” will take place at the Indianapolis City Market (222 E. Market St) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on:
– Thursday, February 17th
– Thursday, February 24th
You will learn about different spices and how to incorporate them into your cooking. Learn about various spices and their benefits with a cooking demonstration and tasting.
This event is free to attend and open to all ages.
