The Indianapolis City Market welcomes its newest merchant on Monday, July 23, 2018, with Poke Guru (pronounced po-kay) opening, introducing downtown diners to the traditional Hawaiian dish commonly described as deconstructed sushi in a bowl.

“Poke Guru is a fast, healthy concept which allows customers to build their own poke bowls using sushi grade ingredients,” said owner Adam Odgaard. “It is our mission to provide convenient access to a nutrient dense food that is not only good for you, but is a quick option to feed you for your busy day.”

Once open shoppers will be able to find Poke Guru on the City Market’s second floor mezzanine, next to Mile Square Coffee, Mondays and Tuesdays from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Odgaard also plans to make his poke bowls available through online ordering.

Poke Guru will offer vegetarian and vegan options along with traditional tuna and salmon options typically found in poke bowls. Odgaard said he will source his ingredients locally from farmers and respected fish suppliers sourcing fresh and wild caught fish.
